MC75 từng là dòng ampli đèn mono khá thành công của McIntosh trong quá khứ nhờ thiết kế mono block, chia tín hiệu âm thanh ra thành 2 kênh riêng biệt để xử lý. Mức công suất 75watt với độ méo nhỏ hơn 0,5% là khá ấn tượng với một sản phẩm có thiết kế cổ điển.
McIntosh sử dụng 2 đèn KT88 cho phần tín hiệu đầu ra nhằm cố gắng “đạt hiệu năng ở tầm tham chiếu”. Còn phần đầu vào tín hiệu được thiết kế để tương thích với tất cả bộ xử lý tín hiệu cùng pre-amp cùng hãng.
